Nordictrack Commercial 1750 compared to Proform Trailrunner 2.0

Our fierce treadmill contestants today are the Nordictrack Commercial 1750 and the Proform Trailrunner 2.0.

Today we’ve got a Proform Pitted up against a nordictrack. Comparing the two of these will be interesting. Both are manufactured by Icon, and have very similar designs and techniques for selling their equipment. The treadmills are both $1499 on their sale price, so both are on level starting ground.

When we look at their specs, it looks like these treadmills are almost the exact same thing. Check these out, and see if you can pick the better treadmill just based on the specs.

Here’s a little comparison table:

It’s like we’re comparing twins here. With a 3.5 CHP motor, the treadmills are both capable of powering heavy people at slow or fast speeds. The rollers on the Nordictrack are bigger and better than the Proform, so that’s one plus for the Nordictrack. With a weight capacity of 350 lbs, anyone under 300 lbs could trust these to hold strong as long as they’re not jumping up and down on them too hard. The full sized treadbelts are double ply making them strong and durable, and they quietly glide across the deck as smooth as butter.

The machines both happen to have 30 built in workouts. Most people don’t use the programs, and the people that do tend to stick to a few that they like. 30 workouts is way more than most people will ever use, but it looks good on paper. Both have Ifit Live. Now, this is a useful feature. Especially by utilizing the 7″ full color display screen with it, you can route trails with Ifit, or get Jillian Michaels on your case, and more. Lots of fun to be had with that. Both machines have an Ipod and Mp3 port with built in speakers, and both fold up. The Nordictrack has a built in fan which is nice. The cushioning systems are a bit different, but both work about the same. The Proform Trailrunner 2.0 has adjustable cushioning while the Nordictrack has a set cushion, but Nordictrack has better cushioning techniques than Proform, and I think their cushioning feels better regardless of whether it’s adjustable or not. Both have the same warranty with a lifetime on the frame and motor, and 5 years on parts, and 2 years on labor.
