When you are looking for a sturdy treadmill, often SOLE treadmills come to mind. But if you are looking to save on a durable SOLE treadmill, the SOLE F60 may have caught your eye, even though it is not currently available on SOLE. There are other, third-party sellers who are offering the F60 for $999. However, our Canadian readers may have noticed that the F60 is available on SOLE Canada’s store. To make this review reflect the current availability, both in Canada and third-party sellers, we used an F60 from these resources, rather than the discontinued model that used to be carried in America. Even given these considerations, Treadmill Reviews did come to the conclusion that while the F60 is a good treadmill, there are other budget treadmills in its price range that may be a bit better for your needs.
Generally, we have found the F60 to be priced at $999. If you can find an American retailer, it may drop in price to $799.
Motor Size - With a 2.0 CHP motor, the F60 runs quietly and smoothly. It doesn’t have the power to stand up to tough workouts, but it should be sufficient for walking workouts and some jogging.
Running Area - As for the area where you will work out on the treadmill, you have a decent amount of room, with 20” of belt width and 55” for the length. If you are over 6’2” like a couple of our treadmill testers, you may find the 55” belt a bit short, especially when you use the incline feature.
Weight Capacity - Users who weigh up to 300 lbs can comfortably use this machine. If you weigh 300 lbs or are close to that weight, you may want to check out a few other SOLE treadmills, as they have higher weight capacities.
Folding - Like other SOLE treadmills, the F60 comes with easy folding mechanics. Simply lift the deck high enough, and it will lock into place. To release the deck, all you need to do is pull the lever, and it can even descend to the floor hands-free.
Space / Footprint - If you are low on space, the F60 is a good treadmill. When in use, the F60 measures 35" wide, 72" long, and 54" tall. When it’s folded up, the F60 measures 35" wide, 49" long, and 62" tall. It is also easy to maneuver the F60, so you can roll it away when you don’t need it.
Max Speed - The top speed for the F60 is 10 MPH. However, we don’t recommend you push your F60 that hard. It wasn’t designed as a running treadmill and will likely break down rapidly over heavy usage.
Incline - You have a good incline range on the F60, going from 0% to 10% incline. With this extra incline, you can push yourself a bit harder on your workouts and reach your fitness goals sooner.
Workout Apps - There are 24 regular workout programs built into the F60 as well as a heart rate program and one spot for you to make your own custom workout program.
Display - The bright blue 6.5” LCD console screen makes it easy to track your workout progress. As for the information displayed, you will be able to track your speed, time, distance, pulse, calories, what program you are using, and your incline.
Speakers - Two built-in speakers are on either side of the F60 console. You can plug your entertainment into the audio jack on the console and work out headphones-free. The speakers’ quality is decent, though the quality degrades as the volume goes up.
Fans - You have one fan at the base of the F60. It is not an overly powerful fan, but as it is near your core, it isn’t as useless as SOLE treadmills that have their fans at the top of the console.
Heart Rate Monitoring - There are hand pulse grips that allow you to estimate your heart rate. But when we say estimate, we mean it. Handlebar heart rate monitors on any fitness equipment aren’t that good, and won’t be able to provide you with more than a ballpark reading.
Normally, we have nothing but praise for the build quality of SOLE treadmills. And while the F60 has a decent build quality, it isn’t quite up to the standard we look for in good budget treadmills. If you are a walker or only occasionally jog, then the F60 should be fine. However, it is not designed to stand up to much more strenuous workouts. If you purchase your F60 from SOLE Canada and want to return it within the 30-day period, you will need a Return Authorization Number from their customer service. There will be a 15% restocking fee as well, and there may be freight charges if you don’t return the F60 in the same box.
When it comes to budget treadmills, the F60 isn’t a bad choice. It has a small array of workout programs built-in, a fairly sturdy frame, and decent incline range. However, when you compare it directly to other treadmills in its price range, the F60 doesn’t stack up as well. Some examples of this are:
Our Canadian readers can purchase the F60 through SOLE directly. However, SOLE Canada doesn’t ship to America. So, if you are one of our American readers who wants the F60, there are some third-party home fitness sellers who have this treadmill available.
